Hi, my name is Brennan Godwin, and my friends call me B.

I'm a North Carolina-based photographer working across editorial, fine art, and sculptural studies. Rooted in travel and documentary storytelling, I photograph with sensitivity to people and places. My images reveal the resilience and fragility within changing environments, from coastal spaces shaped by climate events to the cultural and environmental identities of cities around the world.

I’m drawn to the subtle tension between what endures and what fades. To finding memory in landscapes, with quiet themes of nostalgia and sometimes whimsy.

On the road is where I feel most at home—whether driving the lonesome roads and ghost towns of Route 66, sifting through layered history of vibrant European cities, or documenting the shifting environments of the American South. I photograph to explore the tension between permanence and impermanence, presence and trace, memory and progression. My editorial approach emphasizes mood, detail, and a sense of lived experience, often guided by small encounters and moments of connection along the way.

My sculptural photographs extend this curiosity, I approach these works as intimate examinations of material, gesture, and human interaction; how form holds memory and objects anchor a sense of place.

I completed the Creative Documentary and Photojournalism Program with Magnum Photos in Paris, France, and continue to pursue projects in the United States and abroad. I am available for editorial assignments, fine art collaborations, sculpture photography, and environmental storytelling projects worldwide.
