“There is nothing in this world as invisible as a monument” ~ Robert Musil
My studies of sculpture come from a fascination bordering on obsession, the thought of inanimate objects having human emotion. Statues, and other objects in human form, hiding in plain sight, silently witnessing and interacting with us in our daily lives is pure magic, whimsy, nostalgia, escapism. After photographing the statues in the Tuileries Garden of the Louvre every week for a year, I have since included other mythical beings from faraway lands.
